7 Homemade Recipes To Treat Acne

1. Honey and Cinnamon Mask

Ingredients

– 2 Tablespoons of honey

-Paper towels to wipe your face

-1 teaspoon of cinnamon

Directions to put

Rinse your face with water and pat it dry. Mix 2 tablespoons of honey and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon together, until they are thoroughly blended into a paste. Apply this mask on the face and leave it on for 10-15 minutes. Rinse it off completely and pat your face dry again.

2.  Egg White Mask

Egg whites are really a great help in reducing acne and also fading those scars on your skin. These egg whites are real favorite amongst beauticians, as they contain proteins and vitamins which are the very elements to combat acne. Besides, egg whites also help to rebuild your skin and soak up the excess oil, i.e., excess sebum.

Ingredients

  • 2 to 3 egg whites, separated from the yolk
  • Bowl
  • Washcloth

Directions to use

Rinse your face with water and pat it dry. Then separate the white from the yolk. Whisk the whites until they are frothy and let them sit for a few minutes. Cover your face with the solution, especially focusing on the affected areas of the face (Use your fingertips to do that). Apply 3 to 4 layers but make sure that the face-mask is dried first before applying the next layer. Allow the mask to sit and dry for apparently 20 minutes before rinsing it off. Then pat your face dry with a cloth and apply some moisturizer.

3. Papaya Magic

Papaya is yet another ingredient which is really proficient in getting rid of acne. The plain raw papaya is an all-natural, anti-acne remedy which removes the dead skin cells and the lipids, thus leaving it really smooth and soft. Lipid is a general term for fats, of which the oil is a form of. Papaya also has those special enzymes called papain, which reduce the inflammation and help to prevent acne from forming.

Ingredients

  • 1 fresh papaya

Directions to use

Rinse your face with water and dry it. Then mash up the flesh of a raw papaya well, until it becomes a liquid paste. Leave it on your skin for 12-20 minutes and then rinse it off completely with warm water.

4. Orange Mask

Oranges are super efficient in battling acne. They refresh your skin and add a glow to it. The vitamin C, citric acid and also astringent properties contained in oranges help in getting rid of breakouts. Vitamin C is helpful because it promotes the growth of new healthy cells and also keeps your skin in a good condition.

  • 2 orange peels
  • Clean and fresh water

Directions to use

Rinse your face with water and pat it dry. Now pound up the orange peels and add a little water to create a paste. Once you get the paste, apply it on your face and let it dry for 20-25 minutes. Now, rinse it off. And then wash the face with water and pat it dry.

5. Tea Tree Oil

This nourishing ingredient is treated more like a solvent which cuts through the extra sebum and dead skin cells and also unblocks the pores. The anti-bacterial properties in tea tree oil also kill the bacteria which causes acne.

Note: Tea tree oil should never be ingested. Make sure to dilute it before use.

  • Tea tree oil (a small bottle)
  • Clean water
  • Cotton balls

Directions to use

Wash your face clean with water and pat it dry.  Dilute tea tree oil by mixing 1 part oil to 9 parts water. Dip a cotton swab in the paste and apply to the problem areas. Do not apply it undiluted.

Another option to consider: If you have sensitive skin, then dilute tea tree oil with aloe Vera instead of water.

6. Banana Peel

Banana peel contains the magic ingredient lutein, an extremely powerful anti-oxidant that reduces swelling and inflammation and also encourages the birth of new skin cells. So, rubbing a banana peel on the skin can reduce the discomfort caused by acne.

Ingredients

  • 1 banana peel

Directions to use

Peel your banana and eat it (as you don’t want to waste the fruit!). Now, take the peel and rub it in a circular motion all over the face and when you get the feeling that it has covered all your face, let it sit for say 30 minutes. Wash & pat dry.

7. Aloe Vera Gel
